Who is this qualification for?
This Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualification is for anyone who wants to gain a comprehensive first aid qualification or has been identified as re-quiring First Aid at Work during their employer’s first aid risk assessment.
Course Length
3 days.
Assessment
A written and oral exam and practical assessment.
Certification
Successful candidates will receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work valid for 3 years.

The role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Identifying the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Describing how to minimise the risk of infection to self and others
- Identifying the need for establishing consent to provide first aid
- Completing an accident report form
- Identifying the first aid equipment that should be available in a workplace
- Describing the safe use of first aid equipment
Assessing an incident
- Conducting a scene survey
- Conducting a primary survey of a casualty

Managing an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
- Assessing a casualty’s level of consciousness
