First Aid at Work is designed for people who want to receive training in first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in larger or high-risk working environments such as construc-tion sites and supermarkets.

Anyone who wants to gain a comprehensive first aid qualification or has been identified as requiring First Aid at Work during their employer’s first aid risk assessment.

Assessment
A written or oral exam and practical assessment.

Certification
Successful candidates will receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work valid for 3 years.

  • Assessing an incident
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Recognising and assisting a casualty who is choking
  • Managing a casualty with external bleeding
  • Managing a casualty who is in shock
  • Managing a casualty with a minor injury
  • Conducting a secondary survey
  • Administering first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Administering First Aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
  • Administering First Aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
  • Administering First Aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
  • Administering First Aid to a casualty with an eye injury
  • Administering First Aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • Administering First Aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
  • Providing First Aid to a casualty with suspected
